Desigualdades de Género y Emprendimiento en la Educación Superior: Estudio deCaso de la Universidad UBE, Ecuador

El presente estudio analiza las barreras que perciben los estudiantes de Ingeniería Eléctrica frente al
desarrollo de iniciativas emprendedoras, considerando especialmente las diferencias asociadas al género.
Los resultados evidencian que la participación femenina en este campo continúa siendo limitada y que las
mujeres enfrentan mayores dificultades en comparación con sus pares masculinos, principalmente por
factores socioculturales, baja representación en carreras técnicas y condiciones institucionales que no
siempre favorecen su inserción emprendedora. A pesar de ello, la estudiante participante obtuvo
puntuaciones superiores en autonomía y compromiso personal, lo que refleja una mayor orientación hacia
la independencia profesional y la acción emprendedora. Por el contrario, los estudiantes varones
manifestaron mayor seguridad en sus capacidades de innovación, aspecto que podría estar vinculado con
estereotipos de género presentes en áreas tradicionalmente masculinizadas. Asimismo, se identificaron
barreras institucionales que limitan el fortalecimiento de competencias emprendedoras dentro del contexto
universitario. En conjunto, los hallazgos resaltan la necesidad de implementar políticas académicas,
estrategias curriculares y mecanismos de acompañamiento más inclusivos, capaces de reducir las
brechas de género, fortalecer la participación femenina y promover la innovación y el emprendimiento en
la formación de Ingeniería Eléctrica.
